Stop 2 Lăng Minh Mạng (Minh Mạng Tomb) Lăng Minh Mạng is a scenic 16 km or so up river from the Thiên Mụ Pagoda. Minh Mạng (r 1820-1841) was the second of the Nguyễn Dynasty rulers of Central and Southern Vietnam. The mausoleum was constructed by his son and successor, Nguyễn Phúc Miên Tông (r 1841-1847), between 1841 and 1843. After walking around for a bit it was back down the river to Kinh thành Huế, on the way we came across a kayaker and after throwing him a line gave him a tow for a while.See Wikipedia, Oriental Architecture and Vietnam.com.
