Towards the end of the daylight I returned to the Historical Park to get some late afternoon and sunset photos. I again hired a buggy thingy and zipped off, but because I’d left it a tad late before starting out again I only had a limited amount of time.
Stop 1 Wat Traphang Ngoen - วัดตระพังเงิน, I can’t find much about this temple beyond that it “was built some time in the 14th century and the remains consists of a main stupa, with a slender elegant lotus-bud spire, a main prayer hall, and an ordination hall, which sits on an island in the middle of the silver pond.” See Thailand for visitors
Stop 2 Wat Sa-Si - วัดสระศรี refer to my write up in for my morning visit
Stop 3 Wat Chana Songkhram - วัดชนะสงคราม, was most likely built in the 14th century and the site Asian Historical Architecture says that “Its bell-shaped profile and tall, ringed spire is strongly influenced by Sri Lankan designs.”
After handing my buggy back I returned to my guesthouse through the park and along some of the remaining barays.
