Boun Heua Fai (Fireboat Festival) day with the parade, weather permitting, due to take place that night. I went into Wat Siphoutthabath to see if anything was happening and was almost immediately greeted by a monk and invited into a prayer service- he’d seen my camera and wanted me to take shots during the service. Apart from the novices, there was what seemed like a prominent family group who during the service gave numerous offerings to the temple. Afterwards the monk walked the family group, a couple of other tourists and me in tow around the grounds.
