Wat Rong Suea Ten is about 16km north and across the Kok River from Wat Rong Khun. In 1996 residents of Rong Suea Ten village decided to build a temple, which their village lacked, on the site of a previous and long since ruined complex. Previously the area was full of wild life, especially tigers - which give the temple its name: House of the Dancing Tiger.
“The monastery was designed by Phuttha Kabkaew, a protégé of Chalermchai Kositpipat;” construction commenced in 2005 and the main buildings completed and opened in 2016. The distinctive and vivid blue and gold of the temple are unique as are the blinding white Buddha statues. Other statues and detail work of Nagas, ‘angels’ etc. have a breathtaking iridescent metallic sheen. See Not so innocents abroad.
